So Hi everyone your probably wondering why I haven't been writing on my blog for the past couple of months ???? Well to be honest with you all call it abit of laziness, and busy things going on.
But here I am again at doing the blog telling the world the views and opinions on my mind.....
I have now however been working very hard on a councillor candidates vision of becoming a councillor at Ottawa City Hall ...Ian Boyd who this person is is a long time friend from highschool and is running in the ward of River Ward againest the now councillor Maria McCrae who has been there TOOOOOO long and is just not doing a great job at what she should be doing. For Example; How long has Ottawa got to wait for a solution on the transit situation. The present councillors can't decide on a tunnel or light rail???YET maria who is the head of the transportion issues can go out and because of a good deal as she sees it spends billions on new buses for the city. Now tell me where was the discussion for that flip flop of wasting tax payers money??? I know for a fact she did not do her homework on this. As my brother was a mechanic for OC Transpo and had to do serious workon the articulated buses as most of them had faults in them. Also these buses are the lousy in snow how many times have you seen them broken down during a snow storm or for that matter in the winter months. Well Maria certainly did not do any homework on this and in the whole thing my brother now because of the work he did fixing the joints on his back has now serious back problems, thank god he retired from OC Transpo, but still has back problems.
Yep a waste of tax dollars on these lousy buses...only because of a great selling deal the company did with the city.Shame on Ottawa for this.
Well come Monday October 25th we shall see as Ottawa does need SERIOUS change at City Hall YES folks we have to get rid of the present council.... as they are not doing anything except fighting each other over stupid issues and not getting things done PRIME example the Tunnel and Transit issue, also Lansdowne Live.
Come on Ottawa do we need four more years of this I think NOT! So on Monday October 25th VOTE for change in our beautiful City of Ottawa.
As I am Ian Boyd's Campaign Manager I suggest and hope that the people of River Ward DO the right thing and Vote for Ian. Please check out his web site and really think before you mark the X on your ballot. Lets get Ottawa back on the right track and get things done.

Five Million Dollars for a Wedding
Yep Chelsea Clinton is getting married and it’s costing 5 million dollars, I heard alone the flowers are costing one million…Does this make sense to anyone else who is out there shaking ones head…Well for me I think it’s absurd!!! Think of the waste of money this is and all the shit that other people have to go through just because of this marriage…and think about this, how long will it last? I can tell you with five million dollars one could do many good things in this world. Jeepers don’t the rich and selfish have any hearts to what the hell is going down in this world?
I wish and I do mean this in a BIG way that I could win the lotto the one that is 50 million right now because first off I would probably not even want that much so here is what I would do with it. Twenty-five of it would go into resources for the poor and hungry in this world...let me tell you food banks help out loads of people even ones that try to make ends meet month after month with two jobs, a mortgage, and having to survive in tough times. In case you’re wondering I would be VERY VERY happy with just say five million at least then I could live a nice comfortable life for the rest of my days, which aren’t that many left. Like I said 25 million to food banks and helping people get outta the crack that they are in. With another twenty million, I would be like that good old TV show The Millionaire where I would go and look for people who are down on their luck. Giving to those that are creative, aspiring and want to do things to make others life’s better, and believe me folks there are lots out there…oh and don’t think you can just come to me for a handout no sir doesn’t work that way ..so all you charities back off because unless your willing to show me exactly where all the money you collect goes then be prepared to be told “GO FAWK Yourself.” Because if the majority of people only knew exactly how much really does go to the cause. Then maybe some of you wouldn’t be so rich…and believe me folks I have seen this myself with a family that were very poor and then all of a sudden they are living in a gorgeous home driving BMW’s etc. etc. so next time someone from some charity comes banging on your door ..ask them this first question “How much of my donation goes to the cause after adminisation costs?’ if the person in front of you hymns and haws then quickly close the door because I will tell you maybe about four percent goes the rest goes into some admins pocket.
So lets just say I go up to a homeless person , now I know what your saying most homeless people are crazy and have nothing left. Well is it their fault? Es some are and some just fall into the cracks and have no way of escaping. Those are the ones I want to talk to and give money to if they are willing enough to show that if they were given the chance that they would indeed make things better for themselves and others. After all is not that, what humans should be doing instead of killing each other. Think about that for a second people. We are all related in some forum yet we are fighting against each other to show our WHAT? STUPIDITY!!! Yep that is what I see Just look at it this way it is GOOD between EVIL and why are does who choose EVIL. Are they the greedy hungry money moguls of our world who think if they conquer the world in their fashion that everyone will bow down to them NO! Because there will always be someone else trying to overthrow them. It’s a win win situation isn’t it.
I think Cyndi Lauper hits it right on the head with her song “Money Changes Everything.”
So let’s see a rich family former President is spending five million dollars in one day amazing eh. For most of us, five million dollars would go along, way. A very long ay unless your really stupid and you would blow it senselessly. Trust me there are those who do that …many a lotto winner have done that. I will say I admire those people who have won and are living a life of merry. Like little kids in a candy store and believe me folks I know one family that this has happened to. But because they are SMART they are told as long as they do what they are doing then for many generations after the children of the children will still be well off now that takes a little brain power and getting the proper financial people behind you. One can only hope for that dream in winning but we all know the odds of that happening. I will send this word of advice to those out to there that spend hundreds of dollars each time on lotto tickets, get a life cause you know what you just need one number to win. Think of how much the government makes off you suckers every week and you’re probably the biggest whiners when it comes tax time. Jeepers people can you not see how our systems are so screwed up… Oh, well as Frank zappa once said, “The Worlds Most Plentiful Ingredient is Stupidity.”
Well if that is what has to be done then so be it but Five Million Dollars on a Wedding…my suggestion to Chelsea Clinton Go to Vegas! Get it done there for cheap…and use the rest to help the poor and hungry…stop showing the world Gee look how rich we are.
Here comes the Bride all five million dollars worth...and then what will it cost after oh lets say seven years , because on average that is how long marriages are lasting these days. Place your bets!

LONDON (AP) - WikiLeaks' editor-in-chief claims his organization doesn't know who sent it some 91,000 secret U.S. military documents, telling journalists that the Web site was set up to hide the source of its data from those who receive it.
Julian Assange didn't say whether he meant he had no idea who leaked the documents or whether his organization simply could not be sure. But he did say the added layer of secrecy helps protect the site's sources from spy agencies and hostile corporations.
"We never know the source of the leak," he told journalists gathered at London's Frontline Club late Tuesday. "Our whole system is designed such that we don't have to keep that secret."
And while Assange acknowledged that the site's anonymous submissions raised concerns about the authenticity of its material, he said WikiLeaks had yet to be fooled by a bogus document.
The 39-year-old Australian was at the Frontline Club, the hub of London's media set, for the second time in as many days to outline his site's mission and methods - and defend it from charges that it endangered lives by putting mountains of classified information in the public domain.
U.S. officials say the massive online disclosure may have put soldiers and operatives in danger, and the Pentagon, the Justice Department, and the FBI have all stepped in to investigate.
President Barack Obama said Tuesday the leak of classified information from the battlefield "could potentially jeopardize individuals or operations," while Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told reporters in Baghdad that there was "a real potential threat there to put American lives at risk."
U.S. officials are worried that the raw data may prove useful not only to the Taliban but to hostile intelligence services in countries such as China and Russia who have the resources to make sense of such vast vaults of data, said Ellen McCarthy, former U.S. intelligence officer and president of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance.
Former CIA director Michael Hayden described the mass release as a big gift to America's enemies.
"If I had gotten this trove on the Taliban or al-Qaida, I would have called it priceless," he said. "If I'm head of the Russian intelligence, I'm getting my best English speakers and saying: 'Read every document, and I want you to tell me, how good are these guys? What are their approaches, their strengths, their weaknesses and their blind spots?'"
Back in London, Assange agreed that the files offered insight into U.S. tactics.
But he said that was none of his concern, and he noted that his Web site already carried a copy of the U.S. Special Forces' 2006 Southern Afghanistan Counterinsurgency Manual, among other sensitive U.S. military documents.
"We put out that stuff all the time," he said.
He seemed irritated when a member of the audience pressed him on whether he believed there were ever any legitimate national security concerns that would prevent him from publishing a leaked document.
"It is not our role to play sides for states. States have national security concerns, we do not have national security concerns," he said.
"You often hear ... that something may be a threat to U.S. national security," he went on. "This must be shot down whenever this statement is made. A threat to U.S. national security? Is anyone serious? The security of the entire nation of the United States? It is ridiculous!"
He said he wasn't interested in the safety of states, only the safety of individual human beings.
"If we are talking a threat to individual soldiers ... or citizens of the United States, then that is potentially a genuine concern," he said.
Assange cast a bit of light on the way his organization operates, describing an online submission system "like nothing else you've ever seen."
"We encrypt all the information, it is routed through protected legal jurisdictions, multiple servers," he said.
But, to the amusement of the audience, the former computer hacker said one of the best ways to submit classified material remained the international postal system.
His comments also offered insight into his own motivation, referring to a statement he gave to German newspaper Der Spiegel in which he said he "loved crushing bastards."
He said the comment wasn't meant in jest, describing himself as a combative person who likes "stopping people who have created victims from creating any more."
Assange also expressed disdain for the military, alluding to a statement attributed to Albert Einstein, a noted pacifist, which describes soldiers as contemptible drones and attacks patriotism as a cover for brutality and war.
He scoffed when the Frontline's moderator spoke of teenage British soldiers "giving their lives" in Afghanistan.
"To what?" he asked.

For those who don't know what I am about...
Few people are as practical and ambitious as Capricorn. Yours is the tenth sign, an earthy element, which makes you down to earth and matter-of-fact. Caution is your second name and this is due to Saturn, your ruling planet. You are sometimes shy and lack self confidence and self-esteem.
I've never met a Capricorn who was afraid of hard work in order which to achieve what they want in life. You are ambitious and go for your dreams and usually end up successful. You like money but not if it involves risk. You prefer to know exactly where your dollars and cents are going. You prefer traditional types of savings.
Others do not generally see you as too enthusiastic but when people get to know you, you do have a side to your nature which is humorous and affectionate. You like to work quietly and effectively without creating too much bother or attention to yourself.
You are emotionally cool so you don't warm to people that easily until you get to know them. Once you get closer you start to feel comfortable with them. Suspicion is one of the chief traits of Capricorn and when you meet people for the first time it is your way of displaying maturity by not jumping the gun. You like to understand what another person is really about.
You are a big thinker even though you work methodically and practically by taking your time to achieve what you set out to do. You never like airy, fairy concepts and only work on ideas which will vouch safe your financial and material security in the future. You are not a clock watcher when you work because you believe in doing a job right the first time round. You also hate wasting time. You are frugal, resourceful and hard working. Commitment is natural to you which is why, as I said earlier, you are likely to be successful in anything you attempt.
Not all Capricorns are supported in their lives so you learnt from an early age how to be self sufficient and to make it alone. You know exactly how to achieve your ambitions by yourself. Your primary philosophy is that self sufficiency is strength so you do not like to ask others to carry you. This also has a basis in the fact that you like to take full credit for what you achieve.
"Expect the worst but hope for the best" is a saying that I have often heard many Capricorns repeat. Basically you are very level-headed and don't expect things to happen overnight. People admire the way you work because you are motivated by your ambitions but also like to perfect your work and do it properly. You can always be relied upon to help others and not cut corners.
A traditional life style appeals to you because you like things in their place and need to be in control. Because of this you are not always the most exciting person to be around but you are extremely loyal and will never let anyone down when you give them your word. It does not seem to bother you that others see you as less adventurous. The name of the game to you is living life on your own terms rather than compromising.
Sometimes others make the mistake of thinking you are elitist. They get the sense you are looking down on them but this is not so because you are actually a very generous person with both your money and your time and if the cause is a worthy one there are fewer who are as generous as you.
Due to your cautious and meticulous mind you are a wonderful judge of character and can easily see through the BS. You are aware of the consequences of partnership both commercially and personally and are absolutely committed to your word.
If others get to know you they will understand that you are a very trustworthy, dependent, punctual individual that you can always be counted on to fulfil their needs and help them if the occasion arises.
In money matters you are extremely hard to deal with and are sometimes seen as being overly materialistic. Although you do drive a hard bargain your integrity always steers your course in life.
You have an incredible capacity to withstand the blows of life and even if times get tough your resilience and dedication is second to none. You gain greater strength than others from whatever misfortune occurs. You are like the steel under the blacksmith's hammer, getting stronger with every blow!
Your token is the Goat which shows just how capable you are of reaching the heights of any mountain. Your success is likely to occur later in life but when it does, you share what you have with others. You like measuring your success through what you have.
You expect people to be just as trustworthy as yourself. If you accept a responsibility you do so with full commitment. You always demand the same level of integrity from anyone you deal with both in the work place and at home.
You are sure to scale the heights of success and due to your keen focus, discipline and concentration your ruling planet Saturn insures a great deal of success, power and happiness. Capricorn stands for courage and achievement after a long and tedious effort.

Holy Lord… If only the real world knows?
So I am watching the news this morning while I awake and get ready for yet another day of struggling to stay afloat, and I am totally getting crazy at the news stories coming over your television airwaves….First off the news of Tony Hayward stepping down from BP is really getting my goat. Sorry but this person is walking away with how much of a pension? Moreover, the ironic thing about this is the big shots say that it is not that much …18 million so that he can get his life back… EXCUSE my language but HOLY SHIT!!! Like he does not have a great life especially when he can go boating a few weeks or is those days after the oil explosion in the gulf. Again, 18 million is allot of money that the feeble and meek could use… You know I would love to see these fat cats who have so much money that they don’t know what to do with actually live a life like many of us do struggling to stay afloat. People who actually work hard for the little pay checks they receive every two weeks to live.
I say this, people that money that he gets should not go to him at all but to the people who in my mind suffer the most those are the ones who will lose most likely or will indeed lose everything… Many of us poorer folks fall in amongst the cracks, and have to start from scratch with nothing, Or if you are lucky with some sort of welfare to keep afloat, which does not do much for many because, of the amount that you get…
I say this Tony Hayward should be thrown out with no pension and should be thrown into a crack in the sidewalk,
and then let him get his life back together then , let us see if indeed he can climb out and get his life back? This is bullshit… no management discussion they say for his replacement reports say. Well when the next person comes in at least I hope he has the knowledge and does really realize that all that oil being taken out of the earth is causing not just the oil spill mishap but also sees that taking oil out of mother earth is only causing the earths plates to shift. Which in turn if you look closely at where they are drilling for oil in the gulf you can see oh the earthquake in Haiti and then how about the earthquake we had here in Ottawa and the area…hmm that one was felt as far as New York, and Boston! So am I wrong in saying that all this oil drilling by those oil barons is causing a void within Mother Earth
?
I still say YES! Because if you do little experiments with say a bottle of water. What happens to the bottle when you put your mouth to the top and drink out all the water within the bottle.Opps, the water bottle will deplete and crinkle down so look at that experiment as the earth when they take out all that oil…Like I said there is a void there that happens so what is the obvious thing that happens the earths plates will shift to fill that void hence earthquakes and other disasters. I am not a scientist or someone who has that knowledge of a geoglist or a scientist but come on think people this is not rocket science it is just mother earth screaming at us saying enough of this shit stop destroying me because the earth belongs to you and was made to enjoy it in all aspects… Again look skyward that is where our energy resources really are… People unite and let us get on that or else those fat cats who are going to get 18 million dollars so that they can get their life back will continue to destroy our beautiful world. Do you hear what I am saying?
Let us see him struggle like many of us… and remember Boycott BP…
And if your really caring leave your car at home and ride a bicycle to work and to get around, it’ better for you and yes you will get to see the true beauty of our earth …especially if like here in Canada’s Capital Ottawa you have great bike paths to tour all over the city and even into the Gatineau hills. In addition, Kudos to Holland who really have the bike thing down to a tee.
If I could do this as a world politician I would...and that is allow cars to travel on certain days and have it so that certain days would be car free...think of it people all the gas and oil emissions not going into our atmosphere …. How would that help in saving our EARTH? Just my thoughts and Opinion…but as one of my mentors says all the time. “Welcome to the island of insanity.” Don’t worry folks I am keeping my eye
ON THIS BULL SHIT NEWS STORY …
So it comes to this eh...!!!! The little bastard ...
So folks after HOW MANY DAYS? and now he resorts to this...okay the cap is working they say but what are they not really telling us eh...Those greedy hungry oil moguls are just that hungry, greedy and not caring for the damage they have done, the lives they have hurt, the people who depend on the seas to live, and not to mention the beautiful wildlife of our planet.
I am so upset at this....yet they will talk and talk then pay and pay (under the table dealings no doubt) and then everyone will eventually will just go away happy ..but still the little person gets nothing and the damage will be done..it doesn't take a rocket scientest to figure this out??? Just look at how they screwed up Katrina. Anyway here is the newsfeed of the big CEO leaving BP ...

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - BP's Tony Hayward, whose gaffes added insult to oil-spill injury for the Gulf Coast, is on his way out as CEO, a U.S. government official said Sunday. Many residents found small comfort in that as BP's biggest mistake under Hayward continued to foul their waters, their beaches and their way of life.
A change in leadership will not change the mammoth tasks ahead of BP, from stopping the offshore oil gusher for good, to cleaning up the millions of gallons that have already leaked, to paying billions in claims - all while defending its stock price and repairing its battered reputation.
The senior U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because an announcement had not been made, was briefed on the decision by a senior BP official late last week.
The government official did not know who will replace Hayward or when it will happen.
One of the most likely successors is BP Managing Director Bob Dudley, who is currently overseeing the British company's spill response and would be BP's first American CEO if he is chosen. It is unclear if he would be juggling leadership of BP with oil-spill duties - just as Hayward once did - or whether he would delegate that duty to someone else.
Earlier Sunday, BP PLC (BP) spokesman Toby Odone seemed to downplay reports about Hayward's departure, saying he "remains BP's chief executive, and he has the confidence of the board and senior management."
BP's board would have to approve a change in company leadership. An official announcement could come as early as Monday.
It's been more than three months since an offshore drilling rig operated by BP exploded off Louisiana on April 20, killing 11 workers and setting off the spill. A temporary plug has stopped oil from gushing for more than a week now, but before that the busted well had spewed anywhere from 94 million to 184 million gallons into the Gulf.
Tropical Storm Bonnie forced ships fighting the spill to pull out, but crews returned quickly Sunday as the storm broke apart so they could resume work on a relief well, a permanent fix for the gusher.
Hayward, 53, was BP's most visible figure for weeks after the oil spill, but faded from the Gulf scene after several tone-deaf comments made people even angrier at the company than they had been. Possibly the most damaging comment came in late May, when Hayward told reporters, "I want my life back," as Gulf residents struggled with the effects of the spill.
He minimized the environmental effects of the oil spill, questioned the existence of oil plumes that scientists have identified and enraged members of Congress when he said he was out of the loop on decisions at the well before the explosion. Dudley took the lead on oil spill duties after Hayward was pilloried for going to a yacht race.
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser said Hayward's departure will be good for BP's image.
"I just hope they replace him with somebody who understands the situation, someone who will come down here and see what's happening on a regular basis, someone who will communicate with us," he said. "From the beginning it was obvious this guy was not the leader needed in this crisis."
But other Gulf residents shrugged upon hearing the news. The oil, they said, has already done its damage.
"It doesn't matter," said Chris Foss, a 39-year-old boat captain from Port Sulphur. "Whatever happens with the corporate dudes is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what they are going to do about this mess."
Patrick Shay, 43, sat on a porch swing of his cottage in Grand Isle on Sunday, his front yard filled with small, white crosses, each bearing the name of sea life or ways of life the oil spill has killed.
"He seems like a pretty self-absorbed person, so I'm not surprised to hear he would walk away in the middle of all this," he said of Hayward. "If anything it will help. They need to get him out of the way and get this cleaned up."
David Duet, 62, of LaRose, La., filled his ice chest at the grocery store in Grand Isle, where he brings his camper every weekend despite the oil.
"I don't think he's directly responsible for the spill, but he still had to answer for it," said Duet, who worked on oil rigs for more than 22 years. "I can understand the time it took to cap it. I know how hard things are out there."
New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said BP's attitude about making things right is more important than who is running it.
"BP, from I think everybody's perspective, made a very bad mistake," he said. "I think what the world expects from BP is an acknowledgment that something was done wrong. I think BP has a long way to go to gain the trust of the people."
Hayward joined BP in 1982 as a geologist, and currently makes 1.045 million pounds (US$1.6 million) a year as the company's head, according to their annual report. In 2009, he received a performance bonus of more than 2 million pounds (US$3.1 million) plus other remuneration, bringing his total pay package to more than 4 million pounds (US$6.1 million).
The company can terminate the contracts of directors "at any time with immediate effect on payment in lieu of notice equivalent to one year's salary," the report says.
Hayward also would receive close to 600,000 pounds (US$900,000) a year upon retirement.
Hayward "became a sacrificial lamb in a politically charged world," said Oppenheimer & Co. senior analyst Fadel Gheit.
Dudley would be well suited to take over, Gheit said, describing him as even-tempered and a good delegator. But he added, "I'm not sure if removing Tony Hayward is going to throw BP's problems away."
Plugging the leaky well for good would knock one of BP's biggest problems off the list, and the company was looking to rebound Sunday from the shutdown forced by Tropical Storm Bonnie.
A drill rig was expected to reconnect at around midnight to the relief tunnel that will be used to pump in mud and cement to seal the well, and drilling could resume in the next few days.
Completion of the relief well that is the best chance to permanently stop the oil now looks possible by mid-August, but retired Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, the government's point man for the spill, said he wouldn't hesitate to order another evacuation if there are forecasts similar to the ones for Bonnie.
"We have no choice but to start well ahead of time if we think the storm track is going to bring gale force winds, which are 39 mph or above, anywhere close to well site," Allen said.
Allen said officials will spend the next day determining how Bonnie, which did no real damage on shore, affected the area. Oil may have migrated north to Mississippi Sound, he said, and officials are checking to see if boom that was protecting sensitive marshlands was pushed ashore.
Experts had hoped the storm would break up and disperse the dwindling amount of oil visible on the ocean's surface, but Rear Adm. Paul Zukunft, the Coast Guard officer supervising day-to-day cleanup, said that didn't end up happening.
"We never had the high winds, the high sea states you get with a more slow-moving and more severe storm," he said during a flyover with reporters Sunday afternoon.
Zukunft said aerial surveillance of the Louisiana coast Sunday found just one patch of emulsified oil, appearing as a milky strip in the sparking blue water.
Since BP's well was capped July 15, the amount of oil skimmed from the surface has plunged from just over 1 million gallons a day to about 2,400 gallons on Thursday, Zukunft said.

Let us pray this works ...Some news from AP cbc newsfeeds.

BP's new cap starts to shut off oil leak
BP has started testing the tighter-fitting cap designed to stop the flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico from a broken well for the first time in almost three months.
The test began Wednesday with BP shutting off pipes that were funnelling some of the oil to ships on the surface, so the full force of the gusher went up into the cap.
Then deep-sea robots began slowly closing — one at a time — three openings in the cap that let oil pass through.
Ultimately, the flow of crude will be blocked entirely. All along, engineers will be watching pressure readings to learn whether the well is intact.
Former coast guard admiral Thad Allen, the Obama administration's point man on the disaster, said the government gave the testing go-ahead after carefully reviewing the risks.
"What we didn't want to do is compound that problem by making an irreversible mistake," he said.
Second thoughts
The cap — a 68-tonne metal stack of pipes and valves — was lowered onto the well Monday in hopes of either bottling up the oil inside the well machinery or capturing it and funnelling it to the surface.
But before BP could test the equipment, the government intervened because of second thoughts about whether the buildup of pressure from the gushing oil could rupture the walls of the well and make the leak worse.
"We sat long and hard about delaying the tests," Allen said.
He said the pause was necessary in the interest of the public, the environment and safety before officials were convinced the test could go forward.
Allen said BP will monitor the results every six hours and end the test after 48 hours to evaluate the findings.
The oil giant had been scheduled to start slowly shutting off valves Tuesday on the cap, aiming to stop the flow of oil for the first time in three months.
BP was initially ahead of schedule on its latest effort to plug the leak. The cap was designed to be a temporary fix until the well is plugged underground.
Initial progress stalled
A series of methodical, preliminary steps were completed before progress stalled.
Engineers spent hours on a seismic survey, creating a map of the rock under the sea floor to spot potential dangers, like gas pockets. It also provides a baseline to compare to later surveys during and after the test to see if the pressure on the well is causing underground problems.
An unstable area around the wellbore could create bigger problems if the leak continued elsewhere in the well after the cap valves were shut, experts said.
"It's an incredibly big concern," said Don Van Nieuwenhuise, director of Professional Geoscience Programs at the University of Houston. "They need to get a scan of where things are, that way when they do pressure testing, they know to look out for ruptures or changes."
The leak began after the Deepwater Horizon offshore drilling platform exploded on April 20, killing 11 workers. As of Tuesday, the 84th day of the disaster, between 342 million and 676 million litres of oil had spewed into the Gulf.

What you do not know? …
Well everyone has been wondering …hey, what happened with Babe Ruth?
Well people let me say from Wednesday ‘s Interview which really went very good as I asked allot of Questions and really got down to earth real answers from what I will call really down to earth very talented musicians.
Okay at 11:15, I left my place riding my bike with a little over 35 lbs on my back in my large knapsack, all my gear, and it was like 45 degrees out with the humidity I rode all the way to the interview, which was in old Aylmer. I got there at 12:55 the interview was to start at 1pm while the band was having lunch. I quickly set up and got a bit of the practice on video, ahhh the start of a great documentary on one of the greatest British bands from the 70’s which I had a big part of getting them to Canada, because of my very high interest in the British Music scene. I even brought the first Babe Ruth Album in mint condition to the interview to get them to sign it and tell them the story of how I obtained it three days before it was on the racks in the record stores.
I explained what I was doing after seeing a film of the punk scene in Vancouver with the video, plus that I was trying to get them some gigs to expand the tour in Calgary, Vancouver, and Victoria.
I left the interview at around 3pm again with all my gear on my back and filled up water bottles and rode down to the Chad Bridge crossing it into Ottawa down Island Park Drive. I get to almost Carling ave...you see I had to bike to bank and Hunt Club to pick up a ticket for that nights Bluesfest I was so happy and excited yes indeed as if you knew me like my close friends do about what was buzzing in my head all the cool ideas and how I wanted to do this documentary.
Well I did not have to bike all that way in the end and ended up going to Bluesfest I did drop some of my stuff at my friend’s place, to lighten my load.
So then I rode back home around 1 am to my place getting home at 2:15 and I dropped as soon as I saw my bed. I was a dead man, but a happy and content.
Of course Thursday was yet another day I will get to again spend time with the band as they were going to play a closed private concert that night and I was to be there at 8pm, I took one of my friends who is in the picture of Babe Ruth performing back in 74.
We got there a few minutes before and proceeded to have a drink at the bar, then we went into the theatre part to watch a three-piece band that did all cover tunes. They actually are quite good at doing them too, they actual do the Mexican damn close to Babe Ruth which Alan Shacklock noted as he said “This is the future.”
Well then Babe Ruth took the stage and played allot of their set list and I have to say I got them on video for the documentary and recorded it off the floor using Reaper Recording software, shame I was using the mikes from the puter. However, listening to it later I thought I did a good job as I did a few tricks to the recording …thank you Recording Institute of America.
Yes indeed Babe Ruth are back I thought and more ideas were flowing through the old brain again, this time thinking the documentary, but now thinking hmmm take the recording of the Mexican mix it down even maybe put my own hip hop spin on it. With cuts from what I had, video taped so far you know, the interview, and now this night and I was thinking the next three nights of the tour.
Well I was told that there would be a band pass for me at Bluesfest, So here I was at home and doing stuff to get prepared for that night answering allot of emails from 5:15 am when I awoke from going to bed at 2am. My email was going crazy friends and others asking me about if they can meet the band or if I could get them in. I told those that they had to buy a ticket, as I had no control on that SORRY! For the ones asking can I meet them I told them that after the show they would probably be at the autograph tent?
I left my place to take the bus into town at around 9:30am as I wanted also to do an run to my old neighbourhood to see the progress on my house that I grew up in as on the 2nd I saw it for the last time because when I got there it was gone demolished now. I stood on my street in front where my house use to be my knees buckled and I started shaking as if I was getting ready to faint. Therefore, I stopped myself from fainting as I sat on the side of the road put my head in between my knees to get the blood flowing again of course when I raised my head up my eyes welled up and the tears flowed. I felt erased indeed. I left Ortona Avenue and got to the site around 4:15 I went to see about my band pass at the bluesfest offices. They gave me a general admission pass and told me to go over to the subway stage to see about my band pass. So I go over and ask a few people volunteers where I can find the stage manager. Now this is where it started because I must have asked six volunteers. All saying they do not know, then I see the people with the question mark t-shirts who carry signs ask me? Okay so I ask a bunch of them also answer was the same I do not know. Then I was starting to think holy shit these people have no clue of what is going on let alone know anything. I then start thinking holy crap that is good you hire people as volunteers and yet you do not inform them of anything important…Can I make a suggestion here to Mark Monahan Mr. Hollywood. Just a suggestion for next years NOT FOR PROFIT Bluesfest. I suggest that with some of that cash that the city of Ottawa gives to the festival and how much was that this year, whereas the Jazzfest got no funding at all and have been doing it longer then Bluesfest, well I suggest that you make a handbook for the volunteers that have no clue because of lack of communication. Yes that big word COMMUNICATION. Make a handbook on the most asked questions. Like where things are? the whole info for the volunteers . So people do not get frustrated at the lack of information.
Finally, I was told to wait at the front of the stage where the stage managers trailer was I was told he would be out to see me in twenty minutes. Okay so I wait and wait with my bowler hat on still waiting, it starts raining hmm not good for a bowler hat. Waited an hour being a little streamed as I was getting soaked in the rain that was falling. Then a rent a cop SECURITY took me backstage where I met both Dave Pinshon and Dave Hewitt, they told me that they were having band meetings and they had to go to it end they had no control over the band pass and to get a hold of Roche Pariesin. Okay I say but I knew then that something was up’. I knew! Just call it my strong relationship with my inner beliefs. Nevertheless, before I left presented them with a beautiful photograph of B.B. King, which I took at the opening of the Hard Rock CafĂ© in Beijing on May 14th 1994. Asking them to give it to Jenny Haan as a thank you to her for her kindness and letting me be part of the exciting reunion of one of my favourite bands. I will point out here also that I had been communicating with Janita for many months before. Now everybody saw the promo posters I did which I did to PROMOTE the shows, I had put them on line on my facebook accounts and started to promo the three shows that they the band was calling their reunion tour. Janita even said in an email to me “That’s wicked” and then the rest of the band also sent messages saying they were awesome etc. Even then, I asked Janita about doing an interview with the band. She said there should be no problem but to get a hold of the booking agency and the promoter, which I did, sending emails to both. One did not answer and Roche did. We arranged the interview whereas he asked me if I would be interested in videotaping the bands shows and if I would be interested in shooting some promo pictures. I told him then that I still shoot on film and have not gone the digital route yet. But informed him about a fellow filmmaker who also shoots photos telling him that he has won several awards, one of which was a photo of my left hand , yes the world famous Frog paw (from the Ren and Stimpy episode Ren seeks Help.) or as many of my friends call it the Craw.
I told him that I would call him and ask him to see if he would be interested in doing the shoot. Now again I will mention that I told Roche that I would ask him and get back to him shortly. Well behind my back Roche goes on facebook finds my friend then emails him and starts asking through facebook about doing it. Well my friend who is very busy with a television production at the time, calls me up and starts telling me that this Roche person is trying to get him to do the photo shoot, I explained to him thee situation, he was mad that this person went over my head and started communicating without any knowledge to me. My friend said he would check to see if he could do it. Awhile later, he called me back and said he was just too busy. Then he asked me not to put his name out there and that he would do his own stuff like me. I totally understood, as we are both independent filmmakers. So now, I started thinking about this and how I told him I would take care of it. Yet he took it on himself to go and get in touch with my friend on his own. Next time ask.
When I did get back to him he then informed me that he had been in touch with this big fan from Montreal who owns his own production company in Montreal and that he would be doing the shoot and doing what he said a three camera to four camera shoot. so I was not needed for the video shoot, but that if I wanted I could shoot the shows and maybe contribute to this guys stuff to, I agreed and said would like to meet with the guy MoMo.
I will point out here that he also informed me the band had no budget for promo. That was weird I thought, but I was not asking for any money. I was even ready to go and rent outta my own pocket three hi end professional video cameras. For a three camera shoot and I was going to hire two fellow filmmakers from the film and video club. Believe me folks I was doing my research on the cameras to, so in retrospect I was ready to shoot the three shows free for the band. Where I would rent the equipment out of my own pocket.
I will also mention also that if I would have had a little extra cash I would have got the promo posters done in a batch from a printer.
Well I did go and get Black and White copies of the promo posters and then took the time outta my busy day to go and poster down Bank Street and Elgin Street. Something I did for shows at Barrymores Music Hall back in the day. Which by the way should have been the practice hall for the band seeing it was voted many times the best live venue in North America many times. Oh yeah I should also mention here that this was also a bit of a screw up as at first Roche told me the band would be practicing in the basement of Irene’s Pub on Bank Street in the Glebe, and that the private concert would be there. I was sworn to the secret. Now knowing the person who does the bookings of bands for Irene’s I thought of getting a hold of him as I had this idea of a photo exhibit which I am calling 4/6 Music time. In my mind would also promote Bluesfest because the photos I am using are all photos I have shot over the years at Bluesfest for various magazines. I am hoping to display it somewhere soon.
So now, I am hearing all the crap going on and I again offer my services in a friendly manner… Each time having something else explained to me, then my thoughts were like this guy is all over the map and looks like he’s about to have a nervous breakdown. So I now call him it was a little after 6pm now, he answers and informs me he is not there yet? And would call me later, he did not. Then I see him and he proceeds to tell me that I cannot get a band pass and that the general admission was my pass...oh so now I am just a fan? I ask then if it is okay to film the show from the crowd he tells me yes go ahead but respect the band and do not but any thing up without permission. I totally agree. Nothing was said at that time about the little snippet I had put up on youtube about 22 seconds in length. However, Alan had emailed me about respecting the band and asked that I do not put any video or audio up. I emailed him back, agreed, and asked him at that time if indeed he wanted me to take the short clip. Which I thought was a great way to promote the upcoming shows. I did not get a reply so I thought okay not sure on that one but still thought it would excite people who knew Babe Ruth so that those people would spread the word which is still the best way and oldest way of promotions, word of mouth. As I found out at the show a lot of people there who had never heard of them even back in their hey day.
Therefore, with just hours before the show I decided to go and finally eat something seeing I had not eaten yet... making my way back to the subway stage, I stood close to the stage on the side that Alan was on, listening to Canada’s own God! Gord Downie…
He did his last song. I then looked all around the place was packed for the return of Babe Ruth here I was feeling PROUD that I again was making this band known for those unfortunate ones and the younger ones who didn’t know them.
I then started to take out my camera stuff. But as I was doing this, this weirdo woman who was with another woman and man starts grabbing my ass every time I lean over to get into my knapsack. On the third time, I stand up and jokingly I say “Look Lady I got no ass to grab, and laughed…as I was wearing my Spiderman shirt she just started singing Spiderman. Instant thought CRAZY! So I go back to my knapsack again she pinches my ass and this time hard. I will say here my ass was sore from all the bike riding I had done in the last few days. I stood up but thought ignore ignore she will get the message. Again, bend over to my knapsack again pinch this time really hard near my nuts. I turn around I am PISSED now! In addition, say “Lady you pinch my ass again and I am going to punch your Fing lights out! The guy steps in saying its all-good it\s just fun... I disagreed and told him control the bitch or else see what happens. My temper was starting to flare up at this time.
The Band come out video camera stats taping show. Then about seven minutes into the show first rent a cop comes up to me (everybody loves a rent a cop). Saying no filming I explain to him I have permission from Roche and he asks where is my pass I inform him I did not get one. He says again stop shooting I again say I have permission, and ask him if he would like to see proof he says yeah like he was king cop so into my knapsack I go and get the tape out and how him part of the concert from the night before. I say does that look like the same person playing the bass up there. He looks at stage looks at camera and goes YEAH! I said well? He said sorry and left... of course I have just missed shooting some great clips. Through the corner of my eye I see my. Rent a cop standing near the entrance gates with a few other rent a cops. Therefore, I think okay he is informing them that this person over there is shooting for the band, which was my full intention.
Well not five minutes later another rent a cop who was standing there comes over to pull his heavy on me, I say did the other person not explain this to you because I saw you talking to him, he denied he was talking to him. So here, we go again put camera down get tape out again to show this rent a cop proof. While I am getting my stuff out my camera case flies out with my power chord, TV cables in it was being really hassled by him, and yes, I was getting pissed. Only because I was missing great shots of Alan do his solo and believe me from what I heard and saw of that really sorry I missed filming it… it’s that type of guitar playing that really moves me internally and makes me happy. So Mr. Rent a Cop was still pulling his heavy on me so I said I would go with him to confirm it but hell I did not want to miss this show this is why I was here... So I said to myself, screw it this person is being a complete A-hole. Went to get my camera bag to put camera away thinking how I would tell the band after the show… Then I noticed camera bag was snagged as I looked for that bag after the show till 2:30 checking the area, garbage cans and the lost and found, to no avail …so here I was now Really getting pissed off and really trying to hold it in but I lost it and in a very unprofessional manner . But do you blame me?
Well then the show ends the band announces that they will be at the autograph tent for their fans. I figure that will take awhile after they leave thee stage so I thought have time to look for bag. Looked and; looked like I said.
So finally I head over to the tent and I see Roche, I go up to him and he says he’ll see me in a few minutes...thought yeah okay…he runs away to do what he had to do. Then I see Jen being driven up to the tent on the Bluesfest Golf Carts….I look at her and she goes right by as if I wasn’t there, as she was going by I said to her you ere awesome and you killed them…She like I said went right by me. Thought that was weird cold shoulder treatment?
Then a few moments later Roche comes up to me and starts asking me what happened and all the shit that went down had got back to the band, him saying it was unprofessional and yes I agreed and offered my apologies saying I thought I would have a band pas for the shoot from the side of the stage. He then goes on to explain that the reason I did not get the pass was that as he said THE BAND thinks you’re just an over Zealous fan… Excuse ME! WTF! Is that? I have been promoting this reunion for a good three months before the date and then I am told that I am an over zealous fan… OKAY! So then, I say I guess the band hates me now. And if I should go and apologise to them all individual, he said they do not want to see you now and that it would be a bad idea at the time...okay I say then I will send them an email. He says good idea. Okay at this point I was extremely hurt by this and with other things as per mentioned my day had not gone good call it Karma …it is that date…. Something about it?
So later after much thought I decided to email Alan first and offer my deepest apology. Thinking I would await a reply before I email the rest of the band. Well as of this writing, I have not heard a peep... not even a thanks from Janita for the present I left for her… Isn’t that great gratitude eh?
Well people I will tell you right now this mishap has really turned me off Babe Ruth as it reminds me of my good friend who hates U2 only because of a bad experience when we saw them the first time they played Ottawa and yes it was at Barrymores.
So in other words the stuff I have of Babe Ruth is never going to see the light of day now too bad
And as for the band well good luck …
As for myself well I will now never return to the Bluesfest again as we say in Italian…CMF!!!. And as one of my radio mentors says on his show. “ Welcome to the island of insanity.”
